The Rose of Versailles

Actually, more like Lady Lady. For some reason I’ve been watching old animated series that I used to like when I was a kid. I love it! Even though my sister doesn’t, despite watching and enjoying it as a child. She said it is much too sad for her taste, when normally she’s the one into “all things gloomy” while I’m all about sunshine and cheerful colours. Its sequel Hello! Lady Lynn is what I liked even more due to Lynn’s involvement in her school’s equestrian team. I used to LOVE that as a child. It made me feel glee whenever I saw anything resembling jumps in a riding ring… I am so happy to finally have experienced jumping. Here are the openings and ending of the series for your viewing pleasure!

For a long time…every time I went to the bathroom it sounded like there was someone in my room jumping on my bed. Of course, being me, I took no notice of it and didn’t even try figuring out where the sound came from and what it really was. I just figured “there has to be a more logical explanation” and left it at that. Also, it is quite satisfying when people are like, “What? There are ghosts in your room!?” to which I reply, “Hmm… who knows {mysterious smile}”. This evening, I was in my bathroom attending to my bi-daily facial ritual when I started to hear that noise again. In frustration I thought, “What IS that? It makes no sense!”. Then I figured out that… it was me… my continuously shifting weight between my feet in my bathroom slippers made that noise… LOL!

I have finally come to the conclusion that no watch could ever suit my Juicy Couture jewelery, and that it is so big that it is not meant to be worn with watches anyway. Or that’s just not my style because it feels like too much. I haven’t been able to wear their charms on the bracelet for a very long time anyway… feels like too much.

After years of owning my DS Lite, I finally decided to cute-ify it!

Should probably use this place before I stop being able to justify its existence! I cannot possibly NOT have anything to write about anymore!

Bookworm lent me her full set of Full House DVDs and I find it completely adorable. Brings back so many memories even though I don’t remember any of the episodes.

This year only made me realize the extent of which I enjoy giving presentations, and pouring my heart out in them. Today I had one for my ethics class and my chosen topic was Animal Testing. We always discuss the presented topic after the student had finished speaking about it. I was worried that Animal Testing was not as interesting to my classmates as some of the other topics were (and they had a more political / financial). However, I was very pleased with the results! People were actually interacting with me while I presented, or actually making comments about what I was saying as though it was really important to them. This was enough to make me content, but my professor told me that due to interacting with my audience and capturing their interest, I was marked up!

Earlier this semester, I came back from school and my friend had dropped this off at my house… Thanks Kay!!

I came, I saw… I returned home

Yesterday, I spent some time watching The Shawshank Redemption after being completely against it. To be honest, I’m glad I decided to agree. I had a lightbulb over my head throughout its duration. It reminded me of something very important, something we tend to forget about in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. Hope. IMDB has this tagline for the movie: “Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.”, I will not even go about to describing my favourite scenes, lines and events, but I will say this: the character of Andy Dufresne is inspirational, and in a way, a role model. Perhaps I wouldn’t rate this movie as the best all time movie, because really, what is the criteria for that? However, I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a movie that affected me in this way, maybe A Beautiful Mind was a close match?

This probably means that I like movies again! Or at least, more willing to watch them. And before I forget, if you celebrate Eid Al Adha – I hope you had a good one!

Now before I go back to the game that I’m playing (the whats and hows will probably come at a later time), here is something that I wanted to share. These pictures are stamped with 4-November-2008. That was the first and last time that I entered Dubai Mall. I didn’t see much, we were only there for about 30 minutes. I found the ice rink very interesting! Much bigger than the one near my house. The video in the end is the fashion runway. Enjoy!

Learning to Breathe

Well, I have a confession to make. I renewed my subscription to Right Bite except this time, it isn’t for losing weight. They are giving me larger portions that, to be honest, I can’t seem to finish. However, I like them because my meals are diversified so I don’t get bored. I’ll see if I can get my portions reduced at my next appointment. Tonight I had Chicken Couscous with Basil for dinner, and it was delicious! Usually there would be something that I wouldn’t eat in almost every mean. This one, though? All that’s left is licking my plate!

My copy of SATC finally arrived some days ago. I only had the time to watch it yesterday, though (when I had an exam today, no less, lol). The best situation for watching a movie is having literally no expectations at all. While watching the first segment I still didn’t know what to expect, but I had speculations. I didn’t trouble myself with them too much, that is why I stopped being so into movies in the first place. While doing that, it was still fun to see everyone’s choice of clothing, shoes and handbags. I think I still love Charlotte best! And, of course, Carrie’s teeny tiny little green birkin! From here on, there will be possible spoilers of Sex and the City.

The wedding being planned was almost like a dream. You almost don’t notice that Big was not included in most of it. That is, what we think, caused him to choke up. After that, I think the style of narration changed. Like bits and pieces of someone’s waking hours in between fever. It didn’t go back to normal till Carrie started going back to her normal self. It’s Sex and the City. You can tell it’s there, even though it’s not that similar to the series. We also think that the characters were allowed to grow in the way they would have if the series was still on. Moreover, I think I need not mention this but: when Carrie gave her assistant her Christmas present, it brought tears to my eyes. I’m not a fan of the bag itself, but I do love Louis Vuitton.

As per Rory’s recommendation, I started watching Seigi no Mikata, and I think I love it! Perhaps the main reason that I found it enjoyable lies in the fact that the main character lives in a Japanese style home rather than a modern apartment. The character Makiko is genius. How she can think something and act in the exact opposite is a concept that I was rarely ever to do. However, it was obvious from the very first episode that Makiko simply followed her mother. That yes, she might be meaner than her mother, but the way in which she was able to conceal the truth from her husband was actually taught to her. Think back to the first episode, when the mother was doing some ironing and then claimed it was really hot in order to have her husband do it instead. I’m just about to watch the final episode now.

I’m not sure whether to be proud of the fact that I managed to upload my entire nail polish collection on Poupee Girl or embarrassed by it. What should come next? Make up? Toys? Bags? Nah, I’m officially bored.

This is the charm of the moment. I’ve had it for a long time now, and my sister has one that matches while my mother has one in a similar style just not Sanrio related.

Tatta Hitotsu no Koi was a very sweet drama, I wish I’d seen it all earlier. Though, as many said, the ending was not all too surprising. At first I actually expected it to be tragic.

Last night, I hogged the PS3 by playing Karaoke Revolution: American Idol. Realized that I had unlocked a video, Hemmorage, from the actual American Idol show, apparently this is possible if you achieve platinum on the song Hemmorage (In My Hands). I did not know who the singer was, but he sounded amazing. Looked up the full vide on youtube, hope it works for you guys. He starts singing at0:40. By the way, it’s Chris Daughtry. If you don’t know him, he sings the second song on the Breathe video at the very bottom of that entry.
