Independent Woman

Tomorrow I’m going to be heading out and I thought it would be a good idea to keep in mind the sort of things I need to pick up:

  • Low-fat turkey slices

  • Organic moon biscuits

  • Chai Latte

  • Extra muffin pans (in minature and regular size)

  • Some clothes hangers (they keep taking mine and it’s annoying! >”< )

  • Something to measure / weigh food (baking ingredients) with

For some reason I wasn’t easily able to access my photobucket earlier today.

I was really happy that my cupcake carrier finally arrived the other day. Pretty sure it comes in other colours but for now I’m ok with the pink one. It is better than any other cake carrier I own in the sense that the cupcakes won’t move and I can transport a lot of them. Some months ago I got one that was supposed to be for cupcakes as well but it wasn’t that good for transporting because nothing held the cupcakes in place. It’s fine for keeping them on the table, but not when taking them to my grandmother’s for example. The new one is perfect for that! I will hopefully get a picture of it full of cupcakes at some point.

Lamingtons

The other day, I tried my hand at making lamingtons after craving them for sometime. I like coconut coated desserts, so this one recipe was a must-try. Although they do look a bit weird in the picture, I know, I actually enjoyed them. I rarely ever eat much of the stuff I bake, only a taste to make sure I won’t poison my family and friends but otherwise nothing. This time, however, I kept craving them for hours on after…even after they were all eaten.

The next day we went to a cafe that actually sold lamingtons, the real deal, and I decided to try them. To see if mine were a success or not. They were really different! I probably wouldn’t have been so addicted if mine turned out like that… maybe it’s not a bad thing to mess up change your recipes around.

It’s Official

I’m not really sure what to say. It’s nice to be able to play an MMO game and forget about everything else. But geez, I think I’m officially an addict. Just got xfire a few days ago to be able to chat to / call friends while playing. My latest character is fun. My first character was a female mesmer, that I ended up hating, subsequently, not really enjoying the game as a whole. With my new elementalist, however, Guild Wars became a whole other experiance. It is a male character that looks extremely femininee. I mean, I tried to make him more masculine by choosing a meaner (think rougher, just a bit) looking face but it didn’t work. Then to make things worse, my friend gave me a rose (equipment, you can see it one of these screenshots). So every time we leave town we end up having a laugh about it because it just SCREAMS. Think Ouran High School Host Club. Yeah. Like that.

FF

So it was finally time for me to see an ENT (Otolaryngologist and no I cannot easily pronounce this word). Enough was enough! And I was attacked with tools I never knew existed. When I first took a seat and glanced at all those scary looking objects on the side, I hoped that none of them would need to be used. Then, I was taken hostage by the scariest one of all. Without giving away the gory details, when I heard what the doctor was asking for and saw that it was brought near – I actually imagined myself running away. Apparently, it wasn’t just my imagination because the people in the room were all suddenly very amused. It wasn’t painful or frightening, just… discomforting. But at least now I feel better. I was told that I should stay away from my Bunbun for a while so we can confirm whether or not this was started by an allergy. Of course, I didn’t listen.

When I returned from my vacation, I found a bag full of goodies that my friend Ai brought me from Thailand. This isn’t even everything, I just couldn’t get good pictures of them all. Besides, my absolute faaavourite part of the gift has now moved from its original location and I’ve yet to get a picture of that. There have been several changes in my room, and once I sort everything out, I plan to share!

Cornubia

Sometimes when memories of old events come crashing down you can’t help but feel crushed. Even when you run everything in your head and you are sure that you did nothing wrong, that you were dragged into something you don’t even understand, that some people are just asses because they could always deal with things in a way that wouldn’t produce so much drama, instead of sending their friends and family members to harrass you (when you don’t even know what you’re being harrassed for). You can’t help but feel something poke at your chest, even though you know that people like that aren’t even worth your attention, let alone your grief.

The first movie I ever saw Hayden Panettiere in was actually Ice Princess. I thought she was cute, and I enjoyed the song “I Fly” that she sang in the movie’s soundtrack – but I really didn’t like her acting. Then again that whole movie just wasn’t really convincing for me in the acting department. I mostly kept watching it (again and again) for the figure skating sequences. However, as Claire Bennet she was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Some of her scenes gave me goosebumps. Her intense arguments with her father were very convincing. Now I am gonna go girlish. I really really really like the outfit she was wearing at the end of season 1. The suit-type of thing. I love the style of the white blouse and it looks great under that jacket. Something like that would look aweasome for a job interview or work.

This is the charm I’m currently using for my phone. I like that bow best, but having candy is always a plus. And no, it’s not new.

Joy

Here’s my little rant about Poupeegirl. To sum up, it makes me feel weird! Even though I do regularly post pictures of stuff so I can get ribbons to dress up my avatar, it’s just…weird. To think that random people out there can see the contents of my closet just isn’t very comfortable. Sometimes I think that it would be better if I just got rid of that account but then I think that, you know what, it’s fun to buy stuff for your avatar. There are all these items that are only available for a limited time and in limited quantities. They, of course, do absolutely nothing (unlike armor and weapons in other games), but they are just fun to have. It’s not like I would go out and shop just to post pictures on Poupee although it is probable that some do have this problem.

And another thing, even though the administrators try to prevent this, there are many cases of image theft. A user whose collection I admired turns out to have been stealing images from eBay. The product itself is irrelevent, but I only found out because I search for these things on eBay from time to time and the seller profile just did not add up. At first I actually thought it was the poupee user herself selling her stuff. There was a huge age difference. It is probably just a lonely teenage girl trying to appear impressive, yet at the same time it felt kind of repulsive and I haven’t felt like browsing her closet since then.

These pictures are from the last time I had friends over. I’m not too fond of that batch of cupcakes but apparently it was alright. The chocolates remained mostly untouched, surprisingly. Or perhaps I’m the only one that would even think of diving in. My sister is addicted to Kinder Joy. These days I’ve been purchasing several different types of trays, dessert stands, tea sets and so on. They all end up being in the same type of colour theme and usually when I see them, I can tell from a distance that “this is what I want”.
